CIArb Bahamas Branch
Terms and Conditions of Registration and Website Use
Effective date: 16 October 2026
1. Who we are
These Terms and Conditions apply to registrations for CIArb Bahamas events made through ciarbbahamas.com and to the use of this website. The website is operated for CIArb Bahamas Branch, the Bahamas Branch of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (“CIArb Bahamas”, “we”, “our” or “us”), 82 Dowdeswell Street, Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas.
Contact: info@ciarbbahamas.com.
2. Website use
You may use the website to view event information, register for events, apply for or purchase sponsorships and contact us. You must not misuse the website, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, interfere with its operation, or submit false, unlawful or harmful content.
We aim to keep event information accurate and up to date, but programme details, speakers and timings may change. Postponements and material changes are addressed in section 5 of the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
3. Registration and eligibility
Registration is made by completing the online registration form and, where a fee applies, paying the amount shown at checkout. You must provide accurate and complete information. Each registration is for the named attendee only.
Some registration categories, including EDLS sponsored, speaker and sponsor registrations, are available only by invitation or with a valid code. CIArb Bahamas may verify eligibility and may decline or cancel a registration that does not meet the eligibility requirements published for its category; any payment for a registration cancelled on this basis will be refunded.
A registration is confirmed when you receive a confirmation showing your registration reference and, for paid registrations, when payment has been successfully completed.
4. Pricing and currency
All prices are in Bahamian Dollars (BSD). Registration fees are offered at Early Bird and Standard rates. Early Bird rates apply to registrations made up to and including 3 November 2026; Standard rates apply from 4 November 2026. The applicable rate is determined by the date and time of registration in The Bahamas (Eastern Time).
The price that applies to your registration is calculated by the website and shown at checkout before you submit, and that price is recorded with your registration. The amount shown at checkout is the total amount payable for the registration.
5. Payment
Card payments are processed through a secure payment gateway via Bank of The Bahamas Limited and its designated payment providers. CIArb Bahamas and the website do not retain full payment-card numbers or card security codes. Please do not send full card numbers or security codes by email, messaging service or ordinary website forms.
Sponsors may pay by card or by cheque. A sponsorship paid by cheque is reserved when the order is submitted, and payment remains outstanding until the cheque is received and has cleared. Cheque payment instructions are shown at checkout and in the order acknowledgement.
6. Service delivery
No physical goods are supplied. In-person registration gives the named attendee admission to the event at the venue on the published event date. Please bring your registration reference for check-in.
Virtual registration gives the named attendee access to the online event. Virtual delegates join on the website’s Join Virtual Event page using their registered email address and registration reference; a one-time access code is sent to the registered email address. Access details are personal and must not be shared.
Further details are set out in the Service Delivery Policy. Virtual attendance interruptions are addressed in section 6 of the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
7. Refunds and cancellations
Cancellations, refunds, attendee substitutions, changes of attendance mode, duplicate or incorrect payments and non-attendance are governed by the Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms. If there is any inconsistency, the Refund & Cancellation Policy applies.
8. Sponsorships
Sponsorship packages and their benefits are described on the Sponsorship page. Sponsorships are governed by the applicable sponsorship agreement, which prevails over these Terms for sponsorship matters, including sponsorship payments and refunds.
9. Complimentary and sponsored registrations
EDLS sponsored registrations, sponsor allocations and other complimentary passes are issued at the discretion of CIArb Bahamas or the relevant sponsor, are personal to the named attendee, have no cash value and have no paid ticket price to refund. Attendees unable to attend should notify CIArb Bahamas so an allocation can be released or reassigned if permitted, as described in section 8 of the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
10. Code of conduct
Attendees, speakers and sponsors must behave professionally and respectfully, comply with venue rules and the reasonable instructions of event staff, and must not engage in harassment, discrimination, disruption or unlawful conduct, in person or online. CIArb Bahamas may refuse admission to, or remove from the event or the virtual session, anyone who seriously or repeatedly breaches this code. A refund in that case is not ordinarily payable, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
11. Recordings and photography
Events may be photographed, filmed or recorded by or on behalf of CIArb Bahamas for event records, reporting and promotion of CIArb Bahamas activities. How photographs and recordings are handled, and how attendees may raise concerns, is described in section 10 of the Privacy Policy. Attendees must not record or broadcast sessions, in person or online, without prior permission from CIArb Bahamas.
12. Intellectual property
Website content, event materials, presentations and recordings belong to CIArb Bahamas, its speakers or other rights holders. They may be used for personal, non-commercial reference only and may not be copied, distributed or published without permission. The CIArb name and logo may not be used without consent.
13. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or any rights you have under applicable law. Subject to that, the total liability of CIArb Bahamas in connection with a registration is limited to the registration amount paid, and CIArb Bahamas is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. CIArb Bahamas is not responsible for travel, accommodation or other services purchased from third parties, as described in section 11 of the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
14. Privacy
Personal information collected through the website and in connection with registrations is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, and the courts of The Bahamas have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version and its effective date are displayed on ciarbbahamas.com. The version in force when you register applies to that registration.
